Eligibility Rules
New Zealand Rovers
All participants at a New Zealand Rover Moot must be a member of the Rover Scout Section (for New Zealand Rovers this means Squire, Full or Associate Member as defined by your Crew constitution) or fit into one of the following categories:
- Be an Adult Leader in the Scouting or Guiding movements under the age of 26
- Be a member of other organisations, by invitation of the Association
- Be the Contingent or Assistant Contingent Leader of an International Contingent
Not a Rover, but Midnight Moot sounds like something you want to check out? Cruise on over to the National Rover Website to get in touch with a Rover Crew in your area.
Australian Rovers
Australian Rovers are of course most welcome at Midnight Moot, however you need to register as part of the Australian Contingent. The Australian Contingent Leader is Damien Hayes.
The easiest way to register as part of the Australian Contingent is to fill out the online application form
here. You should set your crew to Australian Rover or Australian Venturer. This will notify Damien, and he will be in touch with you to confirm your eligibility to attend.
Check out the
Getting Here section for information on paying for, and getting to, Midnight Moot!
Others
All International Participants must be Rovers Scouts, or the equivalent section in their home country, but must also fit into our age limits (18-34 years). All International Applications must be approved by the country of membership National Organisation before they can be accepted by the Moot Organising Committee.
Any person who is not mentioned above may be eligible to attend subject to approval by the Moot Organising Committee in liaison with Scouting New Zealand, however Scouting New Zealand reserves the right to accept or decline all moot applications.
If you are not sure of your eligibility, or have any questions about it, please ask us sooner rather than later!
Staff
There will also be some opportunities to attend the moot as a staff member, however we will not know what our staffing requirements are until closer to the event.
Note that if you are eligible to attend as a participant you cannot apply for a staff position.
